Fine Indonesian dining

After work last night Rizaldi was kind enough to take us to this fine establishment. Its a restaurant near IPB and a very nice place. The building is very spacious and the food was outstanding. The dinner was served family style with plates of fish, soup, shrimp, sate, tofu, bean and vegetables. There was a big crowd of us from the office and it was really fun. I got lots of heat because apparently I have a reputation around here for being a reckless eater and trying everything within reach. However, I'm still losing weight. Works for me. I believe this reputation is mostly undeserved and comes on account of my illness. In comparison to the ladies, however, it may be justified. It seems like my illness has become a punchline around here. Indonesians joke about everything. Its great and I don't mind at all.

The office. Rizaldi is third back on the right.

Shrimp nuggets? Maybe cuttlefish or squid? Who knows its deep fried. Also, that fish on the plate was the best thing of the meal. Some kind of spicy fried whitefish. Really good.

From top: Sate in peanut sauce, yellow tofu and tempe (bean rice mush thing? dunno) and more fish. Sauce was 3 alarm.

And one more. Walking to work this morning I saw a bunch of kids uniformed playing soccer. Good times. I took a picture but it didn't come out nearly as well as Jess' here.
